History

Banished Shadows was founded by Netos and Miceric on June 21, 2004.   This husband and wife team was dedicated to finding a way to enjoy the game at all levels, regardless of training, knowledge or abilities.   They created a sanctuary for others to grow and learn together with an understanding for real life pressures and limited play times.   Their recruiting efforts aimed at new and returning players with a strong focus on building a core of members at similar levels to ensure Banished Shadows would level and grow together.   Their challenges were big in the beginning but their hearts were bigger.   Through patience and practice they learned to raid and fight as a unified front.

As Banished Shadows grew officers were chosen to provide structure and direction for the guild.

Attitude

Banished Shadows reflected the attitude of it's founding members and chosen officers.   Strong, unique and varied opinions were a key ingredient in their success.   A recognition of real life commitments balanced with a constant push to move forward set Banished Shadows apart from other guilds.   Banished Shadows slowly grew together into a close knit team of friends and family.   The attitude and outlook of the founding members and chosen officers attracted other players with similiar viewpoints.

Pride

BSers prided themselves on their reputation of honesty and loyalty to each other.   Every member adopted and followed the rules of engagement and followed the higher path of responsibility and dedication.   BSers wore their tags with pride and held each other to the highest standard insisting upon greatness and respect.   Thoroughout Norrath BSers were recognized for their discipline and ability to respect others.   Invited to groups and raids again and again simply based upon the tag they carried over their heads.

In the end

Banished Shadows continued to grow beyond the plans and intentions of it's founders.   BSers went on to grow, level, and succeed.   As the young ones matured and the old ones began to seek out greater challenges and more experience the founders discovered themselves standing before a fork in the train tracks.  

The left track led to continued progression and greater challenges, though the path was filled with danger and treacherous paths.   Surely not all BSers would make it down this path and no one knew what might lay at the end.   Many were simply not strong enough to travel this track even protected and surrounded by their friends.  

The right track led to a train station with many exits and paths to other lands.   Though it meant the train would come to a stop the choices and opportunities found there were unmeasurable.   There were paths for everyone, young and old alike.   Easy and difficult paths, high cliffs meant for climbing and jagged trails meant for hiking.   The challenges were endless and the paths available infinite.

It was clear that the right track was the path meant for Banished Shadows and as Brykwoad, the wise arse bear, spoke his final words, "Last stop, everyone off" the BSers began to choose their individual paths.   Some chose to travel together and take on more challenging paths, others traveled off alone destined to discover what unique challenges Norrath might have in store for them.   All stepped off the train unsure of what lay ahead but the unknown wasn't enough to crush their excitement.

A Personal Note

As the Guild Leader of Banished Shadows I watched us grow from nothing more than a scribbled name on a post-it note to a strong and capable guild of dedicated and loyal players.   Banished Shadows was my family, my friends, my home.   I am proud to have had the opportunity to be a part of something so unique and different as Banished Shadows and will never forget the people who so honorably served by my side.   May every BSer continue on to discover new and different lands, incomprenhensible challenges, and meet the goals they have set for themselves.   When you see a BSer in passing, be sure to say hello.
